As an Ethical Culture celebrant I work with all people of good will who are searching for
authentic ceremonial ways to affirm inspiring human values. Whatever the life passage
event, all the ceremonies I participate in are celebrations of the mystery and wonder
of community and our capacity for enduring love.
Licensed Officiant:
Many couples' first question is, "are you legal?" Yes, I am. I am a certified Leader in
good standing with the American Ethical Union, which is the federation of Ethical
Culture Societies in the United States (www.aeu.org). As such, I am specifically
licensed to legally officiate at weddings. I am also authorized to perform other
life passage ceremonies. Over the past twenty years I have served hundreds of couples
and families from all backgrounds.
A Leader in Ethical Culture is the legal equivalent of an ordained minister. Ethical
Culture is a religious and educational movement inspired by the ideal that the
supreme aim of human life is working to create a more humane society. As such, it
attracts people with a variety of perspectives about the ultimate nature of being.
But their common commitment is to make trust, respect, kindness, fairness, mutual
understanding and support real in their daily life together. My community encourages
me to offer weddings to any couple searching for a warm, meaningful ceremony centered
on such abiding humanistic values.

When contacting me, be sure to tell me the nature of the ceremony you are planning and
when you want to do it. (If you have flexibility about dates, I will be more likely
to be available). I'll email you a brief form to fill out, and after you complete
